Our best selling Barbour Jackets of Spring 2013

In April we gave you our predictions for the top 10 selling Men and Women’s Barbour jackets for spring 2013. Now 3 months on we can look at the actual top 10 best selling jackets from Barbour; where we were right and where you have surprised us.

For the ladies:

1. Classic Beadnell

We predicted the Print Beadnell would be a big seller this year so we were nearly right, but it seems the classic has pipped the post. The classic Beadnell jacket has again proven to be one of Barbour's best selling Ladies jackets. A medium weight thornproof wax jacket available in Olive, its a versatile jacket suitable for all climates. That might explain why its sales have eclipsed the lighter Print Beadnell with a slow start to the summer.

2. Cedar Trench

Trenches didn't feature in our predictions but the style of this beautiful double breasted trench coat and its versatility makes it an obvious best seller. Available in Navy and Dark Pearl the Cedar Trench is reversible so you can have the beautiful Barbour tartan on display if you are feeling more flamboyant. The plain outer is shower proof and the jacket is machine washable so you needn't worry about putting it through its paces.

3. Cavalry Quilt

Although out predictions featured no less than three quilted Barbour jackets the Cavalry quilt has led the spring 2013 charge to the tills. It has a hint of equestrian style that brings country style and functionality into the city and onto the high street. Available in contrasting colours Black/Stone, Indigo/Stone, Navy/Navy and Chilli Red, you have a choice of striking colours. The jacket itself has an elasticated waist detail for a flattering shape and is a lightweight jacket to suit the cooler summer nights without being too heavy.

4. Printed Summer Liddesdale Quilt

We were right on the money with our prediction for this beautiful quilted jacket with the new exclusive Barbour print. Barbour has injected colour and life into their classic Liddesdale design with their exclusive printed lining and range of colours available. Available in black with an ornate lining or pearl with a poppy lining, the jacket is 100% lined, features a classic cord collar and is machine washable.

5. Riverwood Wax

The popularity of this lighter-weight wax jacket is another reflection of the dreary English weather we have experienced so far this year. However with festival season in full swing this stylish waterproof wax jacket with its pack-away hood is the perfect answer for weekends spent outdoors. Available in Navy the Riverwood has a slightly tailored fit and studded pockets for your essentials, a corded stand collar Barbour's 100% cotton tartan lining.

For the Gents

1. Ashby Wax Jacket

Our best selling men's Barbour jacket this sprint, the Ashby is based on the contemporary engineered Bedale Jacket, but with a more flattering fit. It retains the classic county styling of a cord collar, studded rear vents, two way zip, two hand warmer pockets, studded bellows pockets and an inner patch pocket. The 100% cotton lining is Barbour's famous tartan and the jacket can be added to with additional liners and hood accessories making it adaptable for all seasons.

2. The Tailored Sapper

A sapper is a combat engineer who performs a variety of military engineering duties and Barbour has captured where military meets engineering perfectly in this lightweight wax jacket for men. Available in Olive, the jacket has a stow away hood, draw cord waist and inner zipped pockets for securing valuables. Made form 100% waxed cotton the exterior has four pockets, a cord collar stand, with a two way zip for utility and studded front fastening.

As predicted the Ariel quilt has proved a very successful jacket inspired by Barbour's rich international archive. This bang on trend quilted jacket for 2013 has a fitted cut and detailing that gives it a very masculine military edge. Made from 100% cotton with a 2 inch boxed quilt the jacket has elbow patches, two way branded front zip fastening and a collar stand with strap detail. Available in Olive and Navy.

4. Hacking Blazer

Barbour's Hacking Blazer remains a best seller in 2013. A slimmer cut, medium weight waxed jacket with four studded pockets and studded front fastening that sets this blazer apart from the traditional wax jacket design. Shoulder and arm detailing, contrasting cord collar and Barbour tartan lining finish the look of this jacket that has studded rear vents and an inner velcro pocket.

5. The Fourfeld

The Fourfeld is a medium weight quilted jacket available in a dark stone colour. It's four angled external pockets give it a unique style but the cord stand collar, tartan lining and stylish cut make it unmistakably Barbour.
